Your enrolment number is generated only after your admission is fully confirmed by IGNOU. Since you already have a username and password for the portal, it means your application has been registered, but sometimes the enrolment number takes time to appear.

For January 2025 session, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Admission Status: Visit IGNOU Admission Status Portal and enter your control number or registered details. If confirmed, your enrolment number will be shown.

    2. Login with Username/Password: If the portal is not opening, try using it late night or early morning, as IGNOU sites often face heavy traffic.

    3. Regional Centre Help: If it still doesn’t show, contact your regional centre with your Control Number, Program Code, and personal details. They can provide your enrolment number.

    4. Email Support: You can also raise a ticket on the IGNOU grievance portal: https://igram.ignou.ac.in/.

Once confirmed, your enrolment number will also be sent to you by email/SMS from IGNOU.

Admission confirmation in IGNOU usually takes 4–6 weeks after the submission of your application, as the University verifies documents and processes applications at the Regional Centre level. Since you applied on July 15, 2025 and received the acknowledgment on August 1, 2025, the delay is still within the normal processing timeline, but it can sometimes stretch longer depending on the volume of applications at your Regional Centre.

    What You Should Do:

    1. Check Admission Status Online:
Visit the official portal: IGNOU Admission Status and check whether your enrollment number has been generated.

    2. Wait for Confirmation Mail/SMS:
IGNOU will send you an official confirmation along with your enrollment number once your admission is approved. Keep checking your registered email ID and SMS.

    3. Follow Up with Regional Centre:
Since you have already emailed Delhi-1 Regional Centre, try calling them directly or, if possible, visit the centre in person. This often speeds up the process.

    4. Keep Record of Control Number:
Your control number (from the application form) is important, so keep it safe while following up.
